Profile

Oberstabsbootsmann Anspach enlisted in the German Navy April 1983. He completed basic and apprenticeship training at Naval Logistics School, List, Germany and Naval Non-Commissioned Officer School, Plön, Germany.

A specialist in military administration, personnel management, as well as paymaster and accounting Oberstabsbootsmann Anspach attended several courses of the German Noncommissioned Officers education system, and is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 147.

His assignments included Naval Air Wing 5, Kiel, Germany; Headquarters Allied Forces Northern Europe, Oslo, Norway; Naval Air Wing 2, Eggebek, Germany; Headquarters Baltic Approaches, Karup, Denmark; German Fleet Command, Glücksburg, Germany; The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Copenhagen, Denmark; Naval Weapons and Guns School, Kappeln, Germany and as Command Master Chief of the German Delegation Allied Joint Force Command, Naples, Italy.

Prior to assuming his duties at the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy in June 2011, Oberstabsbootsmann Anspach served as Chief Branch-Administration, Strategy and Policy Branch in the Armed Forces Staff III of the Federal German Ministry of Defense, Berlin, Germany.

Before he enlisted in the German Navy, he was educated as a Banker with Deutsche Bank.

His decorations include the Cross of Honor of the Federal Armed Forces of Germany in Silver and Gold and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of her Royal Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
