Profile

CDR Ha has served on three fast-attack submarines through four deployments in the Pacific and Arabian Gulf. He was a pilot for Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle-1, operations officer for Submarine Squadron-15 on Guam, and served on the Pacific Fleet staff. Throughout 2009, in Iraq he handled strategic communication related duties from the divisional to the corps level.
 
CDR Ha has a Marine Engineering B.S. from the Naval Academy and a M.A. from the Naval War College.   He has attended both the intermediate and senior level NWC resident courses and has joined the faculty as of December 2011.
 
His student paper, "The Next EFV: Aligning Marine Corps Capabilities with National Security," won the 2011 Naval War College Foundation award and a condensed version won Proceedings magazine Best Author of the Year (Third Prize).
