Profile
Professor Steve Forand joined the Joint Military Operations Department in October 2007 following retirement from the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and an M.A. in National Security Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. A naval aviator with over thirty years of operational experience he has served in all active Marine Aircraft Wings. His last assignments were as the Chief of Staff of Marine Corps Installations East and the Commanding Officer of MCAS New River. His Marine career encompassed a variety of assignments including a member the Naval War College Strategy and Policy Faculty, USCENTCOM J3 Current Operations, Commanding Officer Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 363, Headquarters Marine Corps and an exchange pilot with the U.S. Navy at HM-14 an Airborne Mine Countermeasures Squadron.
Professor Forand is also a board member of The Operation Wheels of Freedom Foundation, a non-profit Organization dedicated to providing safe driver training to service men and women returning from deployment.
