NEWPORT, R.I. -- The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) will host the Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense, Christine Fox, on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Spruance Auditorium at Naval Station Newport.
Appointed by President Obama on December 5, 2013, Fox is the highest-ranking female official in history to serve in the Department of Defense.
Fox will deliver remarks covering sequestration, the defense budget and national security strategy. Following her remarks, Fox will participate in a question and answer session with students.

no later than noon, Friday, April 4. Media will be met at the Naval Station Newport Pass and ID office parking lot on Training Station Road, with a departure time of 1:30 p.m. in order to proceed to the auditorium and arrive before the start time.
