LIEUTENANT COLONEL DEE S. ROSSER, USMC, joined the Naval War College faculty in July 2010 following a tour with 3rd Marine Division as the G-3 Future Operations and Plans Officer and the G-3 Current Operations Officer. During this tour, he deployed to Afghanistan initially as the S-5 Plans and Liaison Officer for Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Afghanistan and remained in Afghanistan as the S-3 Operations Officer for Regimental Combat Team-3. He has spent more than a decade studying, living and operating in the Asia Pacific and is one of the few active duty military officers who has worked in North Korea. His assignments and duties span policy, strategy, and planning issues throughout the Asia Pacific with a special emphasis on the Korean Peninsula. LtCol Rosser has a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, a Masters Degree in East Asia Security Affairs from the Naval Post Graduate School, a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina, and attended Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea. He served in Korea as the Assistant Secretary - Operations for the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission and as an East Asia Foreign Area Officer at the U. S. Embassy. His other operational assignments include Commanding Officer, Weapons Company 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, and Platoon Commander, India Company, Battalion Landing Team 3/6 with 24 MEU in Somalia and Haiti.
