Professor Pierce joined the College of Distance Education in 2006. During 23 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, his assignments included: Faculty Advisor with the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Configurations Leading Chief with Special Projects Patrol Squadron TWO (VPU-2), and Airborne Electronic Warfare Operator with Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadrons ONE and FIVE (VQ-1 and VQ-5).  He holds a Master of Science in Public Administration from the Troy State University (1997) and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (2009).  He currently develops curriculum for NWC’s Online PME program, conducts seminars in the Fleet Seminar Program’s Joint Maritime Operations course, and teaches in the Homeland Security-Homeland Defense electives track.
