Biography

Cmdr. Broomfield joined the Maritime Advance Warfighting School faculty following his tour as deputy chief of plans at U.S. European Command. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992 and was designated a naval aviator in 1995. He has completed three operational deployments flying the F-18C and as CVN-65 air operations officer. During his exchange tour, he accumulated 467 fight hours in the Tornado GR-1 while assigned to the 2nd German Naval Airwing in Flensburg, Germany. He was subsequently assigned to the German Armed Forces Staff College in Hamburg, Germany. He completed his second tour as a military professor assigned to MAWS from 2014-17.

Returning for third tour as operational art and planning professor, facilitates 13 month MAWS curriculum. MAWS educates strategic and operational leaders with the skills required to plan, execute, and assess combined, joint, and naval operations.

Led planning team of 26 professionals in production and maintenance of 13 JSCP directed contingency plans, Commander's Campaign Plan, and multiple acute planning requirements.
