Biography

PROFESSOR DOUGLAS N. HIME joined the Naval War College Joint Military Operations faculty in 1998 following his retirement from the Air Force after 29 years in a variety of command, planning, and staff billets as a former B-52 instructor pilot/flight evaluator. He is a frequent guest lecturer for Joint Special Operations University and member of the editorial boards for Joint Force Quarterly and the Journal of Defense Management.

Professor, Joint Military Operations

Develops, supervises, and teaches curriculum for senior U.S./international military officers/government civilians at operational and strategic levels; supervises faculty; conducts faculty training; has served Course Director for both SLC/ILC curricula; co-taught operational warfare elective.

Member of faculty team for Joint Civil-Military Operations Campaign Planning Workshops (JCMOCPW) and Special Operations Warfighter Course (SOPC). Lectures: campaign planning, National /Theater Strategy, APEX/JOPES, Problem Solving, Operational Art, Design, and JPP.

Adjunct Faculty, Salve Regina University

Taught HUM 500 Research Methodology, HUM 510 History of Technology, and HUM 605 Philosophical Perspectives in the Digital Age courses to graduate students in MA and PhD programs. Continue to serve as mentor/reader for several PhD dissertations; wrote/graded annual PhD comprehensive exams.
