A native of New Orleans, LA, Lieutenant General Kevin Iiams graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1986. Commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in operations DESERT SHIELD/ DESERT STORM, SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM I and II, and ENDURING FREEDOM 13. He has had staff and joint assignments at USCENTCOM as the Battlestaff Exercise Branch Chief, the Chief of Operations for the Joint Operations Center, and Director J7 Training and Exercises. Additionally, Iiams was assigned as Deputy Director for Operations in the National Military Command Center, J3, The Joint Staff. He holds a B.S. in General Engineering, and Master’s degrees in Military Arts and Science and Strategic Studies.
