Cmdr. Baldwin received the 2020 Weschler Award for Inspirational Teaching in recognition of superior professional competence, creative imagination and unbridled enthusiasm. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992 with a bachelor’s in oceanography, he also holds a master’s in diplomacy from Norwich University and a master’s in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Baldwin is a career naval aviator with more than 2,500 flight hours in the SH-60B and MH-60R. Operational flying tours include deployments to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf in support of Operations' Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
