Biography

Cmdr. Todd Clawson is a military professor in the Strategy and Policy Department. Most recently, he served as the NATO operations chief in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy’s Europe and NATO Policy. A career naval flight officer and a joint qualified officer, he has deployed to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf. His combat tours include Operations Southern Watch and Enduring Freedom. He earned his M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College in 2017 (distinguished graduate). He has degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and Troy State University. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School in 1995.
