Biography

William D. Ferree received his Ph.D. in Humanities from Salve Regina University and has been on the faculty of the United States Naval War College in Newport, RI, since 1998. Professor Ferree is a retired U.S. Navy Commander with a specialty in Surface Warfare and a proven subspecialty in Manpower, Personnel and Training Analysis. He completed a M.S. in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and a M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He has performed extensive research in U.S. Navy manpower modeling issues especially those relating to technology and human factors. Dr. Ferree is nationally acknowledged for his distance education expertise.
