International Law Studies (ILS) primarily publishes articles by invitation. ILS also considers submissions of high-quality original scholarship regarding the law of armed conflict, law of the sea and related fields for publication.
International Law Studies publishes articles in fora, often drawn from hosted conferences and workshops. Additionally, ILS frequently publishes Feature Articles, which are stand-alone articles, normally 7,000 to 15,000 words in length.
Recently, ILS has begun publishing shorter articles regarding topics of recent interest as "Current Developments."
