Joint Military Operations
The Joint Military Operations curriculum course prepares future military and civilian leaders for the operational arena by emphasizing problem-solving, operational planning, and joint force application to achieve military objectives. Students will examine theater-strategic and operational levels of war across the spectrum of conflict and further develop joint attitudes and perspectives; officers will be exposed to, and increase their understanding of, service cultures while concentrating on joint staff operations.
U.S. Naval War College (NWC) students in the Joint Military Operations department participate in a Capstone Synthesis Event held at NWCâs Pringle auditorium in Newport, Rhode Island. The purpose of the event is for the students to synthesize everything they learned during the trimester and apply that knowledge to a fictional problem. The course is designed to prepare future military and civilian leaders for high-level policy, command, and staff responsibilities requiring joint and service operational expertise and warfighting skills.
