The U.S. Naval War College’s (NWC) academic mission is supported by a host of administrative departments. The day-to-day operations at NWC would not be possible without the contributions of our staff members, from maintaining student records and onboarding new employees to keeping our campus safe and secure.

Human Resources
The Human Resources department supports our civilian personnel, maintains a list of college employment opportunities, and offers information on civilian careers within other areas of the Navy.

The medical clinic is located on campus, and is available for NWC military staff, faculty, and students. An Independent Duty Corpsman can assist with medical needs and coordinate any additional medical care.

The Office of Alumni Programs provides many ways for our graduates to connect, including events and online communities. We are here for the continuation of your growth and success that started at the college and of the relationships created here.

This office serves as the bridge between the NWC and the Office of Naval Intelligence. We provide expert insight to those involved with wargaming, research, and warfare analysis, as well as participate in advanced student research groups.

The Public Affairs Office is a connection not only between the public and the Navy’s various public affairs offices but also between NWC students, staff and faculty. Our office builds NWC’s external presence, whether through releasing information about command operations, coordinating speaking engagements or planning within the command.

The Office of the Registrar manages and preserves all academic records and functions as the admissions office for government civilian students. We oversee transcript requests, document graduate degrees, issue and replace diplomas, provide education verification, and collaborate with service record officials to support both resident and non-resident students.

This office supports NWC by staffing all operational requirements, acting as the Subject Matter Experts for Reserve Component capabilities, issues and concerns.
Reserve SupportSecurity
As part of a secure naval base, the NWC’s security department ensures that everyone who enters our campus, from students to civilian visitors, does so with the proper clearances and badges.

This office provides legal services and advice to the NWC, with NWC lawyers providing ethical guidance and advice to service members if necessary. The SJA’s Office also processes Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests.
