The U.S. Naval War College is located at Naval Station (NAVSTA) Newport, home to more than 42 naval and defense commands and activities. Newport is the Navy's premier site for training and educating officers, officer candidates, senior enlisted personnel and midshipman candidates, as well as conducting evaluation of advanced undersea warfare and development systems.

Welcome to Naval Station (NAVSTA) Newport—home to 50 Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and US Army Reserve commands and activities. From its infancy during the Revolutionary War to its present day sophistication, the United States Navy has been an integral part of Narragansett Bay. Newport is the Navy’s premier site for training officers, officer candidates, senior enlisted personnel and midshipman candidates, as well as testing and evaluating advanced undersea warfare and development systems.
