Biography

Professor Rankin joined the staff of the U.S. Naval War College as an Operations Specialist on the Maritime Operational Planners Course development team in June 2012 and became a faculty member in December 2015. He retired from the Navy from the U.S. Naval War College as the Operations Officer in International Programs supporting NCC & NSC. Flying both the A-6E Intruder and the EA-6B Prowler, Rankin made eight deployments and flew over 120 combat missions in Iraq, Serbia, Kosovo and Afghanistan during his military career. He served on the OPNAV Staff as the Aviation Officer Community Manager, in multiple Combined Air Operations Centers as a Liaison Officer and on the EA-6B Wing Staff.
