Biography

Capt. Edmund B. Hernandez joined the Naval War College faculty in July 2015 after completing a tour as commander, Mine Counter-measures Squadron Three. At sea, he served on USS Long Beach (CGN 9), USS George Philip (FFG 12), USS Princeton (CG 59), Commander, Destroyer Squadron 31, and Commander, Task Force 70/Carrier Strike Group 5/George Washington Strike Group. He has commanded the mine sweeper USS Patriot (MCM 7) and the guided missile destroyer USS Millius (DDG 69). His shore assignments include serving on the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations staff in the Operations and Plans Directorate (N3/5) and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
