Biography

Cmdr. Jason Cassisi graduated from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL in 2000 with a degree in accounting and earned his commission through Officer Candidate School. He holds a master's degree from the U.S. Naval War College and is also a graduate of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School. He was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 2002 and has flown over 2,300 hours in the F/A-18F Super Hornet and S-3 Viking during three combat deployments. He has also served as the Assistant Air Officer on the USS George H. W. Bush and completed two staff tours as a strategist with Naval Forces Europe and Africa in Naples, Italy. His awards include the Air Medal (2) and Meritorious Service Medal (3).

Professional Highlights

2014

First of two tours as a a Strategy Officer at Naval Forces Europe and Africa

Personally led the planning for and authored the Command's Maritime Support Plan (MSP); the Command's authoritative 3-5 year strategic competition roadmap.
2011

Graduated from the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School

Graduated from NWC and MAWS and was selected to be the assistant OPT lead for the MAWS summer capstone exercise.
2007

Combat Deployment in VFA-11

Completed combat deployment supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom with the "Red Rippers", where I was the NATOPS Officer and Quality Assurance Officer, the latter normally reserved for LCDRs.
