Biography

Cmdr. Nick Stampfli is from Olympia, Washington, and works as international law advisor for the College of Maritime Operational Warfare’s assist and assess team and as the director of national security law education for the Naval Justice School. His previous operational assignments include fleet judge advocate, U.S. Second Fleet; staff judge advocate, Carrier Strike Group Twelve; staff judge advocate, Submarine Group Seven in Yokosuka, Japan; and chief of operational law and rule of law advisor to II Marine Expeditionary Force while deployed to Iraq. He has also been assigned ashore in Washington, D.C., Groton, Connecticut, and Norfolk, Virginia.

Served as Chief of Operational Law and Rule of Law Coordinator for Multi-National Force-West, a multilateral, USMC-led command providing security and reconstruction support in Anbar Provice, Iraq.
