Biography
Professor Tortorelli has served as Director of the International Maritime Staff Operators Course since 2021 and has been a professor at the college since 2016. A retired navy cryptologist/naval aviator, assignments included reconnaissance Aircraft Mission Commander, Electronic Warfare Officer on an aircraft carrier and Deputy Air Ops Planner for the Italian High Readiness Force in Taranto, Italy. Ashore, he was Deputy Director of Navy Lessons Learned and Deputy Chief of the NSA Red Team. Designated as a Foreign Area Officer, he was also selected as part of the first cadre of Afghanistan-Pakistan Hands, where he engaged closely with the Afghan Presidential and Ministerial Spokesmen.
