Biography
Steven Shinkel is an associate professor in the College of Distance Education, National Security Affairs (NSA) Department where he teaches in the Fleet Seminar & the NC&S programs. He was a KC-135 navigator with numerous operational deployments to include leading three PLA mil-to-mil exchanges. He served as the CoS 9th AETF-A and NATO Air Command in Afghanistan and commanded the 734th Air Mobility Squadron in Guam. He joined the NWC’s NSA Department in 2017 and in 2021 became the Senior Air/Space Force Advisor until his 2024 retirement. Additionally, he served as the Chair of the Leadership & Warfighting Department at the Air War College. He is an ACSC, AWC and USAF Weapon’s School graduate.
