Issues in National Security

This event is not open to the general public

This event is for spouses, partners and significant others of military/civilian employees assigned to the U.S. Naval War College, Naval Station Newport and its tenant activities, NWC Foundation members and local-area retirees or active/reserve personnel.

Issues in National Security (INS) lectures are designed to offer scholarly presentations to all interested parties. Participation is voluntary and requires no reading or writing assignments. For Academic Year 2026-27, lectures will be presented live in Spruance Auditorium, or at an alternate location as announced, and simultaneously broadcast via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Lectures are scheduled for Tuesday afternoons beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will be 10 lectures offered between September 2026 and May 2027.

These lectures are intended to provide intellectual stimulation to participants, and no formal academic credit will be awarded. However, participants who complete at least 70% of the offered lectures (7 of 10), whether in person, via Zoom, or after they are posted to YouTube, will qualify to receive a Certificate of Participation at the end of the series.
