NEWPORT, R.I. -- The Naval War College (NWC) Press has established a new series of publications, titled “The John A. Van Beuren Studies in Leadership and Ethics.”

In collaboration with the College of Leadership and Ethics, the press intends for these publications to advance scholarship and provide thought provoking works of analysis in the fields of leadership and ethics.

“There will be a special attention to their application to the military,” said Robert Ayer, managing editor of the NWC Press. “This will further the chief of naval operations’ initiatives in leadership and ethics, help to educate Naval War College students, and to better inform the joint force,”

Published in February 2018, the first book in the series was “Inspiring Innovation: Examining the Operational, Policy and Technical Contributions made by Vice Adm. Samuel Gravely, Jr and his Successors,” by Lt. Cmdr. Robert Crosby. An updated second edition of this book is expected to go to print during the coming months.

“It [the series] will be an anthology of NWC Review articles from the past decade addressing the subjects of leadership and ethics, with professor Timothy Demy serving as general editor,” said Ayer.
