Ambassador Hardt is the State Department faculty advisor to the president of the Naval War College and a professor in the National Security Affairs department. A career senior foreign service officer for the Western Hemisphere and Europe, he served in a variety of political-military assignments and from 2011-2014, served as the U.S. ambassador to Guyana. Before joining the Naval War College, he served as Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. embassy in Paris and later as the foreign policy advisor to the commanders of U.S. Special Operations Command and U.S. Central Command.
