David "Bogey" Parr


Col. Bogey Parr is an USAF Airfield Operations Officer and Certified FAA Air Traffic Controller and Airfield Manager. He has multiple command and joint tours to include serving as Vice Wing Commander of the 65th Air Base Wing, Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal and as the Squadron Commander of the 72nd Operations Support Squadron, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Prior to arriving at U.S. Naval War College, he served as the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attache (SDO/DATT) to the U.S. Embassy in Doha, Qatar. He has extensive international experience serving in Portugal (twice), Panama, Hawaii, Japan, and Qatar and he has had multiple combat tours including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Afghanistan.

Professional Highlights


Military Professor, Joint Military Operations

In July 2017, Colonel Bogey Parr joined the faculty of the Naval War College teaching Joint Military Operations. He is a graduate of the National War College in 2009 and the Air Command and Staff College in 2004. He holds three Masters Degrees.

Senior Defense Official/Defense Attache, Qatar

Served as the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attache at the US Embassy Doha, Qatar where he worked directly for US Ambassador Dana Shell Smith overseeing the transformation of the Qatar Armed Forces.

Vice Wing Commander, Lajes Field, Azores

Colonel Bogey Parr served as the Vice Wing Commander to the 65th Air Base Wing, Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, where he led more than 2,000 US and Portuguese military and civilian personnel.

In 2009, Colonel Parr received his Master of Science Degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College, National Defense University, Washington DC.
