Biography

The son of a WWII naval officer, he served in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer for 24 years. Following his active duty service, he spent 13 years in the private sector at two high-technology companies. He was executive director of the Naval War College Foundation for six years prior to serving as a political appointee in the Department of Defense.
