Biography

Lt. Col. Jon Martin joined the Joint Military Operations Department in 2021. He was commissioned as an armor officer in May 2001 upon graduation from St. Lawrence University. He has served in a variety of command and staff positions in armored, stryker and infantry brigade combat teams in Europe, Iraq and Afghanistan. Prior to joining the Naval War College, he served as the cavalry senior trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center. He holds an M.A. in diplomacy and international relations from Seton Hall University, an M.A. in military leadership and security studies from the Latvian National Defense Academy and an M.A. in operational studies from Marine Corps University.
