Biography

Professor Pegahi, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in CNWS’s Strategic and Operational Research Department and the director of the Mahan Scholars advanced research program, a collaborative student-faculty group focused on questions of strategic deterrence and nuclear policy. She previously served as a strategic advisor to special operations forces in Afghanistan, a fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University and at the U.S. Institute for Peace and a consultant at the RAND Corporation. She is a non-resident fellow at the Stimson Center. Her research centers on the strategic uses and limitations of nuclear weapons in South Asia.
