Biography

Robert Work was the thirty-second Deputy Secretary of Defense, serving alongside three Secretaries of Defense from May 2014 to July 2017. A graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, and the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, he retired in 2001 as a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps after 27 years on active duty. Previously, he had positions at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments and the Center for a New American Security. He is currently the president and owner of TeamWork, LLC and serves on the boards of Raytheon Technologies, Spark Cognition Government Services, Govini, System High and the U.S. Naval Institute.
