Biography

Cmdr. Tom Gerstner is a military professor with the College of Maritime Operational Warfare’s assist and assess team and director of the Henry E. Eccles Center for Sustainment Studies. He is a joint qualified officer, has a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, a master's degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College, and a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University. His subspecialties include operations research analysis, transportation and national security studies. Cmdr. Gerstner, a native of Syracuse, New York, was commissioned through Officer Candidate School.
