Master Chief Schmidt currently serves as a Command Senior Enlisted Leader Course facilitator at the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center. Joining the Navy in June of 1992 he attended Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois and then reported to USS Eisenhower (CVN 69). Additional sea duty assignments include USS Nimitz (CVN 68), USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ashore he was assigned to Naval Technical Training Unit, Keesler AFB. In 2011, he was selected to the Command Master Chief program. Assignments include USS Stethem (DDG 63) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Master Chief Schmidt is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy.
