Yusuke Saito is a commander and judge advocate general officer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). He has served on five ships including Japanese BMD AEGIS ship DDG Kirishima. Ashore he served as staff of International Liaison Office, Maritime Staff Office and as a researcher for Operational Law Office in the JMSDF Command and Staff College. He most recently served as a researcher at the Center for a New American Security from 2016 to 2017 in Washington D.C. He graduated from the National Defense Academy of Japan in 2004 and the master's program of Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2018.
