The Future Warfighting Symposium (FWS) launches the U.S. Naval War College’s academic year with a symposium on emerging technologies, cyber war and space operations. FWS draws student attention to the National Defense Strategy, which recognizes that rapid technological advancements are changing society and, ultimately, the character of war.

The event also supports the Chief of Naval Operations' Design for Maintaining Maritime Superiority by challenging leaders to think innovatively about capabilities and threats across all domains at the operational and strategic level. NWC in-residence students are the primary FWS audience. NWC students represent 65+ nations, all services and many government agencies.
