This event is for spouses, partners and significant others of military/civilian employees assigned to the U.S. Naval War College, Naval Station Newport and its tenant activities, NWC Foundation members and local-area retirees or active/reserve personnel.

Issues in National Security (INS) lectures are designed to offer scholarly lectures to all interested parties. Participation is voluntary and require no reading or writing assignments. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the lectures will be presented live in Spruance Auditorium (or alternate location), and they will be simultaneously broadcast via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Lectures will he held approximately every other week on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30 pm. (Some lectures will vary in the time offered). There will be 10 lectures offered between January 2025 and May 2025.

These lectures are being held to provide intellectual stimulation to the participants, and no formal academic credit will be awarded. However, participants who complete at least 70% of the offered lectures (7 of 10) either in-person, via Zoom or when they are posted to YouTube, will qualify to receive a Certificate of Participation at the end of the series.
