Iwo Jima’s bloody legacy includes more casualties than D-Day/Normandy. One third of all U.S. Marines who died in World War II were killed on Iwo Jima. One third of all U.S. Marines who fought on Iwo Jima were killed or wounded.

As the biographer of famed Iwo Jima sculptor Felix de Weldon, Rodney Brown acquired the artist's entire World War II and 1950's archive of thousands of photographs, documents, correspondence and primary source material never before seen. At over 300 pages and with hundreds of photos and illustrations, "The Untold Story" is definitive work filling a void in U.S. Marine Corps history.

Rodney Hilton Brown is a veteran and a published author in the field of military history and has assembled important collections in the fields of Caribbean history, African-American history, U.S. Marine Corps and military memorabilia. He personally acquired and funded the restoration of the original 10-ton 1945 Iwo Jima Monument which was on display at the Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum. In 2004 Brown was made an Honorary New York City Marine for his rescue, restoration, and exhibition of the Monument. His presentation for the 60-year anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima entitled “The Meaning of Iwo Jima” was aired on several TV networks. Brown is also president and founder of The War Museum and The Museum of The Caribbean. Brown holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Trinity College and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.
