NATO and European Security, The Challenges NATO and Europe faces in the new decade, and how the United States will continue to play a leading role in the Transatlantic Alliance

NATO and Europe face serious challenges, as this new decade gets underway. Regardless of the outcome of the November election, the United States will need NATO to deal with legacy challenges in Russia and terrorism, but new challenges in China, COVID pandemic, and emerging technologies. Performing the Duties of Assistant Secretary of Defense Michael Ryan will provide his viewpoints and assessments on these challenges and why NATO will not only remain relevant but also at the forefront of the United States' strategy towards maintaining a Europe that is strong, free, and at peace.
