North Korea's Foreign Policy - Goals and Actors

Patrick McEachern will discuss North Korea's strategic foreign policy goals with the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, and Russia. To help inform this discussion of North Korea's contemporary objectives, his talk will provide the historical context and key North Korea decisions that led to the formation and adaptation of North Korea's interests and foreign and security policy priorities. He will conclude with a discussion of the main actors within the North Korean system, including civilian and military leaders that help inform and execute these policies.
