High Ground: Disaster, Risk, & Resilience in the Philippines
Dr. Bollettino's work with Harvard Humanitarian Initiative's Program on Resilient Communities uses evidence-based approaches to understand how communities mitigate the impact of disasters. Communities play a central role in disaster preparedness and response, and an understanding of the factors that contribute to or impede their resilience is essential to improving interactions with local civil society organizations, the private sector, national disaster management agencies, and the international humanitarian community. Dr. Bollettino will explore his extensive research in the Phillippines, highlighting challenges and opportunities in building more resilient communities.
