Synopsis

Mistrust in institutions - governmental, corporate, social - is on the rise around the globe, and prevents a challenge to anyone who seeks social change. What does social change look like when many people have lost trust in politics? While activists have traditionally sought change through influencing elected authorities, in an age of high mistrust, leaders of social movements are using a broader toolkit, making change through media, technology and business. This talk explores new approaches to social change and the contemporary social movements using them to influence how we think about race, gender, justice and other pressing issues of our time.
