In the context of the current administration’s priorities, this Lectures of Opportunity (LOO) provides a familiarization with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and its role in U.S. security interests. This presentation highlights the USAID mission, structure, and resources tying this agency into the broader national security narrative. Specifically tailored for a military audience, the Department of Defense and USAID relationship is explored through examples along the development assistance to humanitarian assistance spectrum.

This LOO is open to any interested member of the college, but especially offered for Theater Security Decision Making (TSDM) students who would like to have more background about USAID in advance of TSDM Policy-11 session.
