Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic Talks to U.S. Naval War College Aviators
Rear Adm. Richard Brophy, commander of Naval Air Force Atlantic, visited the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) in Newport, Rhode Island, on April 28-29, 2026.
Brophy met with Rear Adm. Darryl Walker, president of the war college, and addressed Navy aviators there.
"It was a great opportunity for the naval aviators assigned to the war college to hear from Rear Adm. Brophy,” said Walker. “The carriers and air wings deploying from the East Coast are playing such a critical role in protecting the American homeland, as well as our nation's allies and interests overseas. Many of the warfighters attending this institution today will be among the next military leaders joining those forces, and being able to engage directly with the commander of Naval Air Force Atlantic helps prepare them for the missions that await them.”
Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
