Biography
Professor Bergstrom is a native New Englander who had a full career in the U.S. Army as an Armor/Cavalry officer including combat duty in Vietnam. He joined the U.S. Naval War College in 1996 as a member of the Joint Operations Department and became the head of Block IV, Regional Contingency Planning and Warfighting. After retiring from active duty in late 1999 he continued to teach in the electives program, distance education program as well as in the regular program and rejoined the War College faculty full time as a professor in Joint Military Operations in 2003.
