Biography

Allen McCoy is an associate professor in the War Gaming Department, Center for Naval Warfare Studies. He joined the U.S. Naval War College War Gaming faculty in January 2020 and has been designing, developing and supporting the execution of operational and strategic level war games since 2013. A retired Navy commander, he served 22 years as a naval aviator. His Navy assignments included; senior U.S. naval aviation mishap investigator at the Naval Safety Center, lead operational planner for Naval Forces Europe-U.S. Sixth Fleet, operations officer at Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Two and Helicopter Training Squadron Eight and air officer on the USS Cleveland (LPD 7).
