Biography

Professor Christian Palmer was commissioned from the U.S. Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class program at the University of Notre Dame. Serving as a supply officer with an infantry battalion during the Iraq surge and an infantry regiment during the Afghanistan surge a year later, he transitioned to the Selected Marine Corps Reserve in 2010. He has tours in every element in the Marine Air Ground Task Force and substantial high level staff experience from combined/joint task force exercises, particularly in South Korea. He has designed and facilitated wargames to train commanders and staffs, and has previously taught in the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program.

Wartime deployment to Afghanistan

Supply Officer for an approximately MEU-sized SPMAGTF in the Kandahar/Helmand Province area of Afghanistan. Subsequently cross-decked to join the Regimental Combat Team that replaced it, and acted as the Regimental Supply Officer for the duration of its deployment.
2007

Wartime deployment to Iraq

Supply Officer for a large reinforced infantry battalion task force in Anbar Province's Haditha Triad (the Haditha, Barwanah, and Haqlaniya corridor).
