Biography
Gene R. Andersen is responsible for operationalizing the personal development element of the Navy leader development continuum with a focus on self-awareness, coaching and mentoring. He is part of the faculty teams for the Stockdale Senior Leader Development concentration graduate certificate program, the AFLEX 3-star course and the Fleet-facing eLPA course. He teaches electives in self-awareness for leaders, strategic leadership and directed research in leadership. A retired Navy helicopter pilot, he taught at the U.S. Naval Academy, edited two leadership texts and is published in the U.S. Naval Institute’s Proceedings magazine and the Naval War College Review. He joined NWC in 2005.
