Gene Andersen photo


Gene R. Andersen is responsible for operationalizing the personal development element of the Navy Leader Development Continuum, with a focus on self-awareness, coaching, and mentoring. He is the area of study coordinator for all College elective courses in leadership and ethics. He teaches electives in self-awareness for leaders, strategic leadership, and directed research in leadership, and is part of the Navy Senior Leader Development Concentration faculty. A retired Navy helicopter pilot, he taught at the U.S. Naval Academy, has edited two leadership texts, and has been published in the Naval Institute Proceedings and the Naval War College Review. He joined the Naval War College in 2005.
