Biography

Capt. Jim Murray, USN, graduated from Fordham University in 1984 with a B.A. in history and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1985. He earned an MBA from the University of Washington in 2001 and an M.S. in national security resource strategy from National Defense University in 2011. A career surface warfare officer, his operational tours include USS Hermitage, Harbor Defense Command Unit 113, Inshore Boat Unit 12, Naval Central Forces Command, Multi-National Corps-Iraq and the Office of Defense Representative-Pakistan. His shore tours include OPNAV N3N5, the State Department as the senior military advisor on the Pakistan desk and the German Armed Forces Staff College.
