Biography

Joshua Meeks received his Ph.D. from Florida State University in modern Europe, history of science and South Asia. His specialty was the French Revolution and Napoleon with a regional focus on the Mediterranean. He has published on this topic as well as published a reference guide on Napoleon's life and works. He is currently working on a global history of the Napoleonic era. He spent four years teaching history at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington. In 2018, he began teaching the NWC Strategy and Policy online course and in 2019 team-taught the NWC Strategy and Policy Fleet Seminar Program course. In July 2020, he joined the College of Distance Education faculty in Newport.
