Capt., U.S. Navy McCray joined the Joint Military Operations Department as a military professor in the fall of 2017, where he also serves as the U.S. Naval War College special operations chair. He is a naval special warfare officer, and has served in a variety of billets in both the SEAL community and at joint commands. He has made multiple deployments to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, as well as throughout Europe and the Pacific.

Professor, Joint Military Operations / Special Operations Chair

Develops and instructs professional military education curriculum for JMO, as well as Special Operations electives.

Branch Chief, Joint Staff

Prior to the Naval War College, Captain McCray served as the Africa, Europe, and Pacific branch chief for the Deputy Director of Special Operations / Counterterrorism (J37)

Commanding Officer

Commanded Naval Special Warfare Unit Two in Stuttgart, Germany. Responsible for maritime special operations for Special Operations Command Europe.

Commanding Officer

Commanded Provincial Reconstruction Team Farah in Farah Afghanistan. Responsible for good governance and development in collaboration with Afghan partners and he Department of State.
