This event is open to all Naval War College alumni, faculty and staff.

U.S. Naval War College (NWC) will hold its 17th annual Regional Alumni Symposium (RAS) in Bergen, Norway. The event is co-sponsored by the Royal Norwegian Navy and will explore a wide range of topics under the overarching theme of “Challenges in Arctic and Cyber Security.”

At the conclusion of the RAS, attendees will be able to:

  • Interrelate the research of the Newport Arctic Scholars Initiative (NASI) concerning the collective defense and security of the Arctic region.
  • Discuss the principles of seapower as they relate to capabilities and confidence-building measures.
  • Discuss maritime challenges in the Eastern and Southern flanks with participants from the Baltic, Black, and the Mediterranean Seas.
  • Identify Russia’s evolving military strategy.
  • Participate in an International Crisis Stability Wargame.

During the event you will have the opportunity to participate in an International Crisis Stability Wargame and earn a certificate for your participation.
